Copeland CEO Departures Drinan plans his exit from APA The American Planning Association announced that Executive Director James Drinan will retire early next year from the $21M-revenue group. Drinan said he will relocate to Ft. Myers, Fla., in early 2019. APA is based in Chicago. Drinan joined APA in 2014 with 25 years of association management experience, and was the first non-planner to hold the role in the organization's history. In the announcement, APA credits Drinan with playing a critical role in reshaping the association's culture.
